BRB UK 79: Phoenix Wrong

It’s that time, once again, to stuff some British goodness in your pipe, get a steaming cup of tea ready and relax on a wingback chair as you join the BRB UK boys (well, two of them at any rate) for a meander around some tid-bits of gaming news.

This week, we prattle on about:

  • Next-gen games arriving before next-gen consoles
  • Titanfall gets a release date and a super-expensive Collectors’ Edition
  • Piracy is bad, m’kay?
  • Nintendo outs a trailer for Super Mario 3D World
  • Fist of Awesome
  • Plants vs. Zombies 2 now available on Android Devices
  • Tim talks about Star Citizen

We appreciate you chaps and chapettes taking time out of your week to listen to our show. For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Zune and stay up to date.

  1. Dangerous Brian

Great show people, it gave me something to listen to while I burned down a Jungle.

    GAME
    Almost
    Meets
    Expectations

There is no such thing as an unnecessary Breast Examination, and on that note, Tim wins the dramat-off.

  2. Lovely show chaps. Ironic that you recorded the show on the 24th and on the 25th I, on a whim no less, decided to update my review on iTunes and now I hear you complaining about a lack of iTunes reviews.

I may have to steal Tim’s idea and donate cash to Dan’s extralife on the condition he reads a children’s story for bonus content 😛

  3. Ridcullys Hat

Chaps, another fantabulous podcast. Obviously Dans reading was sufficiently eloquent and perfectly spoken. Tim however read it in much the way I had imagined. Incredibly funny and questioned everything he was reading. I’m not going to judge however as the entertainment value of this was worth the money and the cause is definitely worth it. I believe the perverted science, when taken into the context of the speech, was due to the discovery of what the ‘enemy’ were doing to their prisoners of war. The now famous, uber soldat experiment as well as the experiments on twins and the like. Plus, as mentioned above, there are no such thing as an unnecessary breast examination. Unless you are a P.E. Teacher.

Great finally got my weekly BRBUKPodCast fix ;-) great show guys and for the GAME acronym it has to be

    Giant

    Aggressive

    Microsoft

    Endorsers

    LMAO

  5. Ridcullys Hat

Thought I’d have a go at the game acronym:
    Great
    Anal
    Massaging
    Evildoers
    ?

  6. Zombellic

    Great
    At
    Making
Euros (obviously the alternate evil timeline version of Game.)

And I can vouch that peeing on your phone is a bad idea because thanks to my daughter’s efforts this week siri now makes random things happen on my phone. It’s favorite thing is making calls or playing music.

  7. Ricardo Kirkabon

    Giant

    Allocators of

  8. Andystrev

Hey guys, even though I’ve been listening to the podcast since the sarcastic days it’s taken me this long to get involved in the forums!

Loved the podcast this week and thought I would have a stab at the Game acronym thingy.

    Gigabytes

    And

  9. I missed you guys, though nice to have something to listen to during Extra Life (GTA’s sound track grates after a while).

Difficult to tell if Tim’s reading was genially the most hilarious thing I’ve heard in ages, or if I was delirious from a lack of sleep though? Either way, another great show thumb

  10. Aurochs

    Good episode lads, cheers!
Fully agree with Tim being annoyed at pc gamers lording their master-race status over us lowly console peasants all the time, so the GTA V malware story was a bit of pleasant vindication!

As for Game, although given that the episode released on the 1st November I feel a deadline of the 31st of October is a little harshtongue, they have Generally Aimless Morons Employed. Or maybe I’ve just had bad experience, but Grainger Games all the way :)

  11. rh0gii

for money, would you create an audio book reading of JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the half blood prince”?

Or maybe… CS Lewis’ Screwtape letters?

    (Just asking)

  12. rh0gii

Maybe… some Mark Twain…. (gotta have some brit accents for Huck Finn)

  13. blazblueneko

Great podcast as always I too recently bought a psvita I’m still impressed with it just can’t wait to get paid so I can buy some actual physical copies of games instead of going through my backlist of ps plus titles

    Geriatric
    Acrobatic
    Marsupials
    Extreme!

    Huzzzahhhh
