I am raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (aka GOSH). They do great work in saving children’s lives and I want to do what I can to use a fun event to raise money to support them.
Introducing the:
Galaxy of GOSH: Star Wars Unlimited Charity Challenge!
I am using my favourite game of all time to help fundraise for GOSH. During 2025 I will set six challenges set in Star Wars Unlimited. We have some awesome prizes to be won (kindly provided by Asmodee and Gamegenic) and the prizes will increase in value as the challenges increase in difficulty.

Galaxy of GOSH: SWU Charity Challenge: Challenge 1
Challenge 1 is called “Jabba’s Dungeon.”
To win this challenge you will have to successfully beat my Jabba deck while using Han or Luke. You can use any Han or Luke Leader card and/or at least 4 Luke or Han Units. Your deck can be composed of any other cards as long as it conforms to the usual rules of a constructed deck for premier play.
Challenge 1: Jabba’s Dungeon Prizes: kindly provided by Asmodee and Gamegenic
Base Prize: This is the prize that will be won by every player (while stocks last) that successfully completes the challenge. The Base Prize for this challenge is a booster pack of Twilight of the Republic.
Also, the first six people that fail the challenge will still get a small prize in the form of a Jabba’s Rancor card.
Challenge Prize: One lucky winner will also win a copy of the awesome card game Star Wars Bounty Hunters. Win or lose the challenge and you will still have a chance to win a copy of this game. The prize draw for this will take place shortly after the end of February. One winner will be chosen at random, contacted via email and your prize will need to be collected from a Tabletop Tuesday event from Loading Bar in Stoke Newington.
Grand Prize: One lucky winner will also be chosen at random from all of the people who successfully complete all six challenges. The winner will win a copy of the Galaxy-sized brilliant board game Star Wars Imperial Assault. The prize draw for this will take place shortly after the end of February. One winner will be chosen at random, contacted via email and your prize will need to be collected from the Tabletop Tuesday Christmas Special event (in December 2025.) from Loading Bar in Stoke Newington.

Frequently Asked Questions.
Q. What does it cost to enter and how much of the fee goes to GOSH?
It costs £5 to enter with around £5 (or more) in prizes if you are successful. 100% of the money raised will go straight to GOSH.
Q. What can I win by entering?
The prizes will be smaller at first and ramp up in size as the difficulty of the challenge increases. We will have more details on subsequent prizes when other challenges are introduced.
Win or lose you still have a chance to win a Challenge Prize for each challenge – as well as Galaxy-Sized Grand Prize to be won for one of the people that completes all six challenges. (Prizes for the first challenge are detailed above.)
Q. Where can I enter the Challenge?
The challenge will mostly be taking place at Loading Bar in Stoke Newington during our popular Tabletop Tuesday events – but I already have plans to take this to other places in the galaxy. If you would like this to appear at your local friendly Gaming Store or Board Game Cafe then ask them to send a request to tim@bigredbarrel.com.
Note that Base Prizes will be available when attempting the challenge. However, Challenge Prizes & the Grand Prize will need to be collected from from a Tabletop Tuesday event from Loading Bar in Stoke Newington.
Q. How can I pay my entry fee?
Donations can be made in person via cash but am also setting up this JustGiving page to have this option available too.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Q. How long will each challenge last?
Each challenge will run for a minimum of a month and a maximum of two months. There may be a need to have different lengths of challenges due to set releases or to avoid clashing with other official events. I will announce the closing date of each event when they are launched.
Q. I missed the first challenge and want to catch up so that I qualify for the Grand Prize. Is this possible?
Yes, but may be difficult to do unless your arrange it in advance. This will be due to me having to have certain decks available to play with and limited capacity of what I can have with me. I will accommodate what I can.
Q. I don’t play SWU or can’t make it to an event, can I still donate?
Yes, I welcome general support for our fundraising efforts and 100% of the money donated will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital. You are welcome to donate cash at the event or via the JustGiving page. All donations of any amount kindly received.
Q. I don’t have a Star Wars Unlimited deck that meets the criteria for the challenge, can I still try the challenge?
Yes. I will always have a deck on me that meets the criteria and will happily teach you the game and give your some tips for how to play the deck. The first two challenges will especially be designed to be not too hard and possible for entry level players.
If you have any other questions please let me know and I will answer what I can.
