Event: A Wake for LucasArts at Loading Bar. London

We at BRB are helping Loading Bar, London, to hold a wake in honour of the death of LucasArts this Saturday 13th April. Will make clear that this is a wake rather than a funeral and as such we may mourn the loss of future titles that were in development, but otherwise will be looking to celebrate the life of LucasArts and the enjoyment that their games bought to the world.

We will have a selection of LucasArts games available to play on the day including;

  • Numerous Monkey Island titles on various platforms.
  • Various Star Wars games from different generations
  • Various Indiana Jones games on various platforms
  • Grim Fandango
  • Full Throttle
  • + more!

We will also be proving there is life after death by showing games such as The Cave and Tales of Monkey Island; hopefully, there will be additions to this list before Saturday and we should have some Star Wars related card games to play too.

Related prizes will also be available. Although unsure if we will be able to add some actual prizes from LucasArts we do have some awesome prizes that should please fans of their games.

There will be specially themed cocktails just for the evening and a small buffet available, as well as a few other surprises lined up throughout the course of the evening.

Details are below, but if you have any questions just ask on the forum thread – otherwise, we look forward to seeing you there.

  1. I’m replaying Tie Fighter and pouring out a forty every time it say “Mission a failure. Return to base”.

  2. What a gear night. I got to meet Tm Hibbs and Chris Tudor and have some interesting conversations. Have some good insight into games journalism and pretty much made my birthday, thanks guys.
