BRB UK 146: Pre-E3

Destiny Dan is down! But Coleman and Tim and a special guest Amiibo do their best to fill in the gap before E3 with some sense and some nonsense sometimes talked about:

  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
  • Xbox One and Oculus Rift are partnering up
  • Oculus Touch
  • Hyrule Warriors coming to 3DS
  • Adr1ft
  • The Last Guardian reportedly coming to E3! And little else?
  • Codename S.T.E.A.M.
  • Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Edition
We appreciate you chaps taking time out of your week to listen to our show.  For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Zune and stay up to date.

Cheers for the episode! Glad Tim finally got to speak about codename steam, it was becoming the Duke Nukem Forever of reviews :p

Thoughts in the Bethesda conference then? Haven’t seen anything from it yet due to sleep/work etc… But some of the fallout news has filtered through and it’s starting to get a little bit exciting.

Also Dr Destiny could be an excellent supervillain name if Dan ever decides to go down that route.

Superb episode chaps, thanks for the E3 coverage Chaps, it told me all I needed to know. Tim, Thanks for the superb “Codename Steam” review. I don’t enjoy Turn based strategy games so won’t play it but the concept behind the story is cool 🙂

Great episode once again lads! Super hyped for E3, Bethesda opened up with a bang, literally Doom was explosive…

Looking forward to the rest of the show, hopefully Sony and Microsoft can match the Bethesda show and give us a couple of big names to look forward to in the next year or so.

Tim your review on Codename S.T.E.A.M may have just convinced me to purchase a copy for myself, if I don’t enjoy it as much as I did XCOM I may vent my frustration of the entire £5 I may have spent on it towards you.

If anyone could photoshop Destiny Dan up I think we’d all be highly appreciative of it. 😀

Great show but sad to see no destiny Dan, I had to come on here and say that Tim explained the overwatch mechanic fantastically lol but so bad lol

Hey all, great show as always. Have some of my random thoughts…

No Destiny Dan this time, I knew it was too good to be true.

So much E3 goodness so far. Fallout 4, Doom, Final Fantasy 7 remake, Fallout 4, The Last Guardian, Fallout 4, Backwards compatible XBones. Did I mention Fallout 4?

The Steam sale is also on, goodbye money…

  6. Also Dr Destiny could be an excellent supervillain name if Dan ever decides to go down that route.

Well technically he would now be Dr Dr Destiny, but overall seen more as a rebranding than going down a new route tongue

I am very excited by all the news from E3, some great looking games and some nice surprises. Will be recording tonight so if there is anything you want us to particularly talk about let us know thumb

We’d appreciate any kind of listener created content – art, songs, animations, etc. In fact I’m going to start offering mystery prizes in return for awesome submissions thumb

Do not fear dear listeners, we’ll get back to normal soon. All the changes going on in our own lives (careers , weddings, events, Amiibo, etc…) takes a period of adjustment and sometimes an absence just can’t be avoided.

Stick with us and we’ll get there. winky2

    Hi!

Good stuff chaps. Does anybody else feel that the latest generation of VR has more than a whiff of the white elephant about it? It feels like motion control from the last generation. I have only had a very brief hands-on with Oculus (and the handle things add lots of possibilities) but I can’t help but feel that a flat screen and a controller (or keyboard/mouse for the purists) is immersive enough.

Forum update: buttons are still black text on a white background, can we have buttons that you can see against the white desktop?

Still listening to the episode (trying to get caught up on all the E3 podcasts).

But I did want to say that I’ve played Ryse through 3 times (first three difficulty levels) and played session (3.5 hours) of multiplayer. Good fun indeed. So Mr. Hibbs may not be as far wrong with his assessment of the game as one might think.
