2025 has been a strange year for the red brand so far. We’ve had the launch of a brand new console, the Nintendo Switch 2, which brought a lot of hype, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and… not much else really (unless you’re a fan of ports).
Now that we’ve had a mainline Nintendo Direct to show what’s in store, it may finally be time to pull the trigger and purchase a Nintendo Switch 2 in time for 2026.
So, here’s everything shown from the September 2025 Nintendo Direct.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Nintendo has announced a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to release in cinemas next year, with the main cast returning.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 220
Both Galaxy games will arrive as a bundled package, featuring updated controls, enhanced visuals, an in-game music player, and new Rosalina Storybook content. A free Nintendo Switch 2 update boosts resolution up to 4K.

Mario Tennis Fever
This entry boasts 38 playable characters, 30 special rackets, new online modes, and an Adventure mode where baby versions of Mario and friends battle monsters through tennis matches.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Switch 2 Edition + Bellabel Park
A new edition of Super Mario Wonder arrives with Bellabel Park multiplayer minigames, including Phanto Tag and coin-collecting challenges.

Talking Flower

Nintendo is bringing a piece of Super Mario Bros. Wonder into the real world with a physical “Talking Flower” set to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition next spring.

Launching in Spring 2026, this new adventure introduces Mr. E, a mysterious book that records discoveries about the world as Yoshi explores and experiments.

Storm Lancers

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
