Greg Johnson, best known as the creator of ToeJam & Earl, has revealed his latest project: Dancing with Ghosts, a life-sim about finding joy while navigating grief. Developed by HumaNature Studios, the game was unveiled with a new trailer and shown publicly for the first time at The MIX Fall Game Showcase in Seattle.
Players take on the roles of Mai, a 15-year-old girl in a Thai river village who has recently lost her parents, and Pim, a young ghost who only Mai can see. Together, they help their community through good deeds, complete mini-games to build Karma, uncover villagers’ struggles with Pim’s ghostly abilities, and take part in dance sequences that mark key story moments.
Dancing with Ghosts is set to launch in 2026 for PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch. A Kickstarter campaign is planned for October 2025.
