Runner opens as a stripped-back chase thriller, with Alan Ritchson playing a former soldier trying to deliver life-saving cargo while a cartel closes in. As a teaser, it is selling urgency more than detail, but the hook is clean and the stakes are immediate.
Owen Wilson is also on board, and the early pitch suggests a lean pursuit story built around movement, pressure and survival.
Runner launches on September 11 in theatres.
