Netflix has released the full trailer for Remarkably Bright Creatures, with Sally Field’s Tova forming an unlikely bond with Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus voiced by Alfred Molina. The footage leans into grief, connection and quiet humour more than big melodrama, which feels like the right fit for the material.
Lewis Pullman co-stars as Cameron, another outsider pulled into Tova’s orbit, while the trailer frames Marcellus as the one quietly nudging everyone towards the same mystery. It looks more interested in character than spectacle, which gives it a slightly different shape from the usual Netflix adaptation push.
Remarkably Bright Creatures starts streaming on Netflix on May 8, 2026.
