Crate Entertainment has revealed Cats & Dogs, the first DLC for Farthest Frontier, adding animal companions and critter problems to the medieval city-builder. New settlements can begin with a cat or dog, with cats helping keep rats under control while dogs protect hunters, crops and livestock from foxes, groundhogs and deer.
Players will also be able to buy animals from the trading post, breed multiple variations through kennels, build doghouses and add new decorative options including hedge gardens, topiary gardens and trellises. It is a small-sounding addition, but it should make towns feel a fair bit livelier.
Farthest Frontier: Cats & Dogs is launching on May 14, 2026 for PC.
