Lucid Rain Studios has announced Inferus, a first-person psychological horror deckbuilder that blends Lovecraftian themes with Dante’s The Divine Comedy.
Players take on the role of a Pilgrim, trapped in a hellish realm shaped by forgotten sins. Armed only with a lantern and a Tarot-inspired deck, you’ll descend through nine domains—each ruled by a grotesque entity—where battles are fought through tactical card duels rather than traditional weapons.
The game mixes exploration with strategy, as clues in the environment inform your deck-building choices, while the horrors around you constantly threaten your sanity. Expect shifting levels, unpredictable card mutations, and enemies inspired by a range of deep-seated phobias.
Inferus will release on PC (via Steam) in 2026.
