Hey lovely listeners, there is a brand new episode of BRB Geek Speak for your ear holes! Find out what happens when Monday evening recording is mixed with alcohol and hunger.

Join Lauren, Mon and Alex as they geek out about:

  • Lauren has many feels about Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 5 – The Vault of the Traveler
  • Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate happened and Lauren went to the launch party at Loading Bar
  • Mon tries to convince girls that they should be watching Doctor Who
  • Alex went to MCM Comic Con and attended Con Man panel with Alan Tudyk and Nolan North
  • We also talked about books/comics vs movie/TV series adaptations (courtesy of  Cartridge Discount)
    • Losers
    • Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit
    • Harry Potter
  • Listener’s question: What game got us into gaming? (Thank you to Craig Hadley, we will return to this question again as we were running out of time on this episode)
  • Listener’s question: What’s the best way to kill time in a lecture? (Thanks to Simon! He is also to blame for wookie noises we were making this episode)

We appreciate you chaps taking time out of your week to listen to our show.  For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes or RSS and stay up to date.

  1. I did the same as Alex back when HP 7 came out. I was on holiday in Italy and managed to find a bookshop with an English version on the day it came out. Finished it by the evening.

  2. The only film I watched and then decided I wanted to read the book was “The Shining”. Best decision I ever made. Screamed through the book, and although I do think the book is better, I can appreciate the film’s score and setting to create the atmosphere.

My favourite quote that I think nails the difference is “Instead of a normal man who becomes insane, Nicholson portrays a crazy man attempting to remain sane.”. I’d love them to add the scene with the bushes into the film now we have that capability.

    Great show ladies!
