Hey guys, good podcast, but why bleep all the curse words. I’m wearing headphones and its pretty damn annoying. Curse and accept it, or not curse?

^ Bleeping out the curse words allows us to record naturally but avoid getting an explicit tag on iTunes. At least that was the reason years ago when we made that decision. Gotta say I had not given it a second thought in a really long time.

FWIW, I also hate bleeps, in general. But this is a decision that was made by the head honchos under the assumption that an explicit tag on iTunes harms download numbers. I don’t honestly know if it makes a difference, especially since the most successful podcasts tend to be uncensored, but I’m also not part of that decision-making prcess so haven’t looked into the analytics at all.
