Final Info for Tomorrow’s Peace Games Live! Games and Consoles to be Won!

I wouldn’t normally just copypasta a press release but the lovely folks at Dead Good Media did such a good job of packing all the necessary info into this that it seemed a shame to mess with it. Also, the one thing it doesn’t tell you is that you will be seeing *me* on the livestream hosting tomorrow and I need at least twelve hours in makeup to have a chance of looking halfway human!

This is a great cause, Big Red Barrel is proud to be associated with Peace Games and I ask for any support you can give, in whatever way you can – not for me, not for us, but for the people all around the world that really need it. Who will you make peace with today?

***You can watch the livestream from 10 AM BST here***

About Peace Games

Playmob will be running Peace Games Live, a 24-hour live stream event designed to raise funds for worthy causes on 21 September 2013. (http://www.twitch.tv/peacegames). Funds raised as part of the initiative will go towards providing vaccinations for children in war torn areas, education around peace and raising awareness of the movement. Playmob also envisions that Peace Games Live will demonstrate the passion, creativity and generosity of the gaming and development communities.

Peace Games Live will be directly broadcast from the UKIE London Office (http://ukie.info/), streamed globally through Twitch TV. Structured like a telethon, Peace Games Live will encourage support to its donation page (Paypal donation page) by providing exciting feature content from competitions, podcasts through to competitive gaming shows.

Peace Games Live is also being supported by creatives and celebrities from the games industry, with Sony, Nintendo, Capcom, Jagex, Mediatonic, TIGA, Develop, Games Industry International, Big Red Barrel and UKIE already pledging their support through donations or appearances during the livestream event. Playmob will release a running order for Peace Games Live prior to the event.

Jude Ower, Founder & CEO, PlayMob, said:

“Playmob has long championed gaming as a force for good, helping developers and publishers to set up charitable campaigns within their games quickly and easily and enable gamers to feel part of something even bigger by transparently showing them what they are impacting, while they play their favourite games. Peace Games has a simple but crucial message – to benefit those impacted by war and violence, whether in areas of conflict or at home, across the world. We are excited to be launching Peace Games on Saturday 21st with a fantastic group of partners and supporters, which we hope to be the beginning of a yearly event for our industry.”
