I agree with the GS consensus that the flood of Star Wars movies is turning me off. I have very little interest in seeing Solo or the Boba Fett movie coming up. It’s likely that I will get Episode IX and call it a day. At least George R.R. Martin had the good sense to write prequel stories unrelated to current GoT characters other than being their ancestors twice or three times removed. As a side note, I think Amazon’s much touted LotR prequel falls into the same category (not caring about previous versions of familiar characters) for me.

Nobody on Geek Speak is watching Westworld? Or is it a wait for the season end to talk about it sort of thing?

Jo is watching it weekly, I believe. I am waiting until it all comes out, although I felt a bit of the fatigue with S2 episodes I have seen. I am sure we will talk about it once the whole series has aired.

I can understand that. Just tell the dang story already without all the artifice already. Still, it’s fun to be part of the zeitgeist and not coming to it long after the fact (as I often do).

Legion S2 comes to a close this coming week as well. I don’t know if I’ve gotten used to the way it tells its story, but this season seems to have a simple story with lots and lots of visual effects.

Having watched Solo, I didn’t mind it. However, I don’t have the connection from my childhood so I’d doesn’t really feel like it’s undoing what I already love. Didn’t think it was great but I thought it was an okay movie.

As for D and D – Alex, I’m ashamed. You tell the story of how you nearly burned in a barn without giving any credit to the hungover hero that saved the day… WHO YOU ABANDONED THAT VERY MORNING!

I’ve been trying to work my way through Westworld and The Expanse (Sorry it’s taken so long, Alex). I’m struggling with both. I need something happy and upbeat to keep my spirits up – maybe that can be a topic for the next episode?

    Paddington.

    Then Paddington 2.

    Followed by Paddington again.

IIRC, it was Lauren who hated the Paddington films? The reaction was immediate and priceless.
