Big Red Barrelcast 73: Hot Fixes

The Big Red Barrelcast returns to tickle your ear drums with their ramblings! On this week’s episode, Pacman, Kev and Dave blabber on about Dragon Age, Far Cry 4 and GTA V.

This time, they pontificate about:

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Far Cry 4
  • GTA V
  • Call Of Duty
  • Titanfall
  • Star Citizen
  • Game Of Thrones
  • Kev’s back update
  • Shout outs
  • Bonus content for our lovely app owners

We’d love to give you all some sort of incredible hug immediately followed by a polite conversation about how cool you are, but frankly we can’t afford the travel expenses. So, while we save our pennies, cents, and whatever the heck Canadians use, we’ll offer you some download links to help bide the time. Holy dragon age plot spoilers batman…

  2. What spoilers?

  3. That Dorian is gay and has to deal with his family? That Sera is crazy? That Bull makes choices? The first one I guess is spoiler-ish. I say ish because that point has gotten lots of coverage. And all three things are bits of info you receive almost immediately upon meeting them. The other two you’d pick up just watching promotional content. Other than that damned if I can find anything spoiled.

Why aren’t the show posts showing up on the forum?

To be fair if you have read a fair amount about the Star Wars universe. All the books and all that, the lightsaber has a high probability of being an unstable lightsaber crafted by a Sith that has slowly regained connection to the Force(Hence the title). They aren’t a new thing, so whilst it might look weird, they are likely vents that are needed to keep the lightsaber from over-heating. Granted it may just be a theory, I still think its a good idea. Good Cast so far though.

Wish you guys would talk more about the PC side of things!

Hot Topics I would love to hear you guys debate:

    – Lack of dedicated servers on Advance Warfare for PC. (COD4 and COD2 are still played for more hours than newer versions put together) and why the game has been dead in the water on PC since World at war.
    – The new “Game Design/Pricing models” (Release unfinished game > Patch after release > Release Original Game content as paid DLC > Abandon game support after new installment announced.
    – Pay to win games (possibly focusing on mobile games?).
    – The rise of the DOTA based games (DOTA2/LOL/HON) and what’s the next?
    – The rise of the bedroom PC (cheaper gaming PCs becoming availible/more common)

  7. @stingo I have no idea. It’s an ongoing problem. We have our top men on the case. I think.

@CloudStyleGamer I had not thought of that. And it’s an explanation I had not heard before. Props!

@eagleuk Can’t promise to address it all in one show but I promise we will cover each and every one of those topics. And when we can, work them into the shows with more regularity.
