Folklore Hunter has officially launched version 1.0 on PC via Steam, closing the book on a lengthy Early Access run. The full release introduces the long-teased Mothman hunt, joining the Wendigo and Strigoi as part of the game’s trio of major Story Hunts.
Playable solo or in online co-op, Folklore Hunter focuses on preparation and investigation rather than firepower. Players scour shifting environments for clues, learn each creature’s behaviour, and decide whether to perform rituals to seal them away — or make the risky choice to free them instead. Alongside the fixed Story Hunts, repeatable Contract Hunts add randomised layouts and objectives for replayability.
Folklore Hunter is launching on January 30 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
