The demo for Cursed Words is available now on Steam, offering an early slice of its Balatro-inspired spin on word games. Players form “words” using far more than letters, throwing in chess pieces, poker hands, numbers, and stranger symbols as long as the score goes up. Runs are shaped by character abilities and a growing pile of stamps and stickers that bend scoring rules, pushing the game from simple wordplay into full-on system abuse.
The demo includes four playable characters, each with distinct abilities, and hints at the full release’s deeper progression, expanded roster, and hundreds of modifiers designed to reward experimentation and reckless creativity.
Cursed Words is launching later this year for PC.
