Disney has dropped the first teaser for its live-action Moana, giving fans an early look at the reimagining of the animated classic. Catherine Lagaʻaia takes on the role of Moana, with Dwayne Johnson returning as the demigod Maui. The cast also includes John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Moana’s mother Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.
Directed by Thomas Kail, the story follows Moana as she answers the Ocean’s call and sets out beyond Motunui’s reef alongside Maui to restore her people’s prosperity.
Moana is set to launch in cinemas on July 10, 2026.
