Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a remake of the PlayStation classic, during September’s Nintendo Direct. The reveal trailer showed a fresh, diorama-inspired art style that blends Akira Toriyama’s character designs with a new visual direction.
This updated version of Fragments of the Forgotten Past introduces streamlined story progression, a Moonlighting system that allows two vocations to be equipped at once, and other refinements aimed at modern players.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined launches on February 05, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
