The January 2026 Resident Evil Showcase focused entirely on Resident Evil: Requiem, outlining several new gameplay details while holding a few cards close to its chest. Multiple difficulty options were confirmed, including a Classic-style mode that brings back ink ribbons for saving. Crafting now ties directly into combat, with infected blood harvested from zombies required to create key survival items.
The showcase also hinted at a shift in enemy design, with some zombies retaining fragments of their former personalities, including one that appears capable of holding a conversation. A mysterious concept known as “Elpis” was teased in connection with Leon S. Kennedy, setting up another narrative thread to unravel. Alongside gameplay, Capcom revealed a sizeable slate of physical tie-ins, including watches and controllers, figurines, and concerts.
Resident Evil: Requiem is launching on February 27 for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
