The official trailer has dropped for The ’Burbs, a comedic mystery series heading to Peacock. Inspired by the 1989 horror comedy film of the same name, the show shifts the premise to modern suburbia, following a young couple who reluctantly move back into the husband’s childhood home.
Their attempt at a quiet life quickly unravels when a new neighbour moves in across the street, exposing long-buried secrets in the cul-de-sac and introducing dangers far more serious than awkward small talk. The series stars Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall alongside Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch and Kapil Talwalkar, with direction from Nzingha Stewart and executive production led by Seth MacFarlane and Brian Grazer.
The ’Burbs is launching on February 8 for Peacock.
