Talesworth Game Studio and DreadXP have announced The Secret of Weepstone, a black-and-white, hand-drawn dungeon-crawling RPG inspired by classic tabletop campaigns of the ’70s and ’80s. Players lead a band of ordinary villagers into an abandoned keep, rolling dice for combat and skill checks while braving traps, puzzles and an assortment of dangerous foes.
The game’s visual style mirrors old-school pen-and-paper role-playing art, and death is part of the journey — fallen characters grant unique “Mortal Favours” to those who survive. Parties can grow to eight members, mixing commonfolk, adventurers and questionable allies as they search for loot, gear and answers.
The Secret of Weepstone will launch in 2026 for PC. A playable demo will be available at PAX West 2025 from August 29 to September 01 at the DreadXP booth.
