HBO has dropped a new trailer for Task, a crime drama from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, starring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey.
Set in suburban Philadelphia, the series follows Ruffalo as an FBI agent tasked with leading a cross-agency team investigating a string of violent home invasions. Opposite him, Pelphrey plays the man behind the robberies, whose motives may run deeper than just money. The trailer hints at family ties, biker gangs and a growing clash between law enforcement and organised crime.
The cast also includes Martha Plimpton, Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel and Mireille Enos in a recurring role.
Task premieres September 7 on HBO and HBO Max in the US. For those of us in the UK, we have to wait until September 8 on Sky Atlantic.
