BRB UK 184: Dogs of Four

Hi everybody.

Dan is back and cleared of the Dollar Flu, while Coleman has just been diagnosed and is slowly descending into madness – Tim seems to be getting through this sickness spell relatively unscathed by the way.

Together they’ll be chatting more GDC news and other really important video game stuff, including:

  • New details on Miitomo and My Nintendo
  • Will PlayStation and Xbox play together?
  • All the PlayStation VR news
  • We’re still playing The Division
  • Tim went to a Game of Thrones screening
  • And so much more…

We appreciate you chaps taking time out of your week to listen to our show.  For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Stitcher and stay up to date.

Great show guys. Also, daredevil series 2 is awesome and the punisher needs his own series. Not game related but has to be said.

  2. WarMachine

    Great show chaps 🙂

    Absolutely.

“Dogs of war” is believed to have been first coined by Billy “The Pen” Shakespeare. It was Billy’s EWE (Elizabethan Wrestling Entertainment) finishing move. He would later go on to write several plays including Julius Ceasar (in which “dogs of war” was first used as a metaphor for armies) and Julius Ceasar II: A Good Day To Julius.

Dog fighting according to Wikipedia is used for fighter aircraft fighting because the fast paced intense combat is reminiscent of dogs fighting. Also because fighter pilots used to allow their tongues to hang limply out of the side of their mouths to guage minute changes in air-speed.

I may have listened to too much of The Bugle

Regarding Game of Thrones – I understand Martin has said that the producers of the TV series know where the story ends up. How they get there doesn’t matter so much to him. That said, I think the story is so complex that it can admit more than one telling. That said, I think certain cards can be played only once in terms of surprise value and I believe that is going to happen when Season 6 starts. Makes me wonder if Martin will do anything different on purpose in the books.
