BRB UK 137: Fast and Spurious

Oh hello there good looking. It’s another week, another show and another great guest. This time Tim and Coleman are joined by the super friendly Community Manager for Codemasters – Lee Williams. Together they’ll be having a chat about all the Codemater-type related stuff going on, including the newly announced F1 2015.

As well as having a good old natter with our guest, our heroes discuss:

  • There’s a Batman PlayStation 4!
  • Quantum Break has been delayed
  •  RiP PlayStation Home
  • Many cool announcements from Nintendo Direct
    • Super Smash Bros & Mario Kart 8 DLC/Updates
    • Nintendo 64 titles come to the Wii U & 3DS
    • There are new sets of Amiibo that Tim wants?
    • There’s an Attack on Titan game coming to 3DS
    • and much more…
  • Boss Monster
  • Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious
We appreciate you chaps taking time out of your week to listen to our show.  For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Zune and stay up to date.

We’ve partnered up with the fine folks over at Audible, who are giving our listeners a chance to support the show by setting up a new account for a 30-day free trial and claiming a free audio book.

Another great episode and another interesting guest! Well done gents.

Tim, I think whoever edits the show has started to resent your overrunning episodes or they would have taken out “There was one thing that… sorry I’m getting very bogged down just in saying words and not saying any sense but…”

The longer the episode the better as far as I am concerned!

  2. I like everything about the Batman PS4 – except for the “Batman Arkham Knight” writing on it.

The controller looks lovely too. Wish they sold those separately.

    Good show gents.

Cheers for the episode chaps! Another good guest, thanks Lee. Micro Machines V3 was always my favourite, still have a copy and it even gets played every blue moon or so. Good old ps1.
Speaking of weird second-life style things (RiP Home, f ), remember Habbo Hotel? Apparently that is still a thing, they launched the full android version last week. Frankly amazed it’s still going.
Agreed with Richard as well, the more talking the better happy Would be a shame to cut Tim off before he arrives at a point! tongue

  4. The longer the episode the better as far as I am concerned!

    Probably quite clear that I could go one all day! However, we need to be slightly restricted in length for two reasons;

    1) The podcast bandwidth is shared across all BRB podcasts. We only get a certain amount a month so more UK would mean less of your other BRB podcasts (which is less of an issue when they are not recording, so why we were able to stretch this a little in recent months)

A small cash injection would solve this, but still wouldn’t get around the main issue, which is point 2

    2) Editing is very time consuming and Mr Coleman is not a machine, gosh darn it! tongue Just adding another 30 mins to the show can lead to hours more editing and Mr Coleman already spends more time than I would like on this every week. Without his awesome efforts (and Dave before him) there wouldn’t be any show at all.

Would be a shame to cut Tim off before he arrives at a point! tongue

This has never, nor will ever hap…

In editing terms I think this is widely known as the “Hibbs Effect,” believe it or not this was exactly what Tim had said in the episode.

Though a lot of effort is put into editing each episode for our fine listeners to enjoy (or tolerate), this is to mainly to clean up the sound, ensure everybody is synced correctly and remove unpleasant sounds (such as coughs, sniffs and throat clearing).

Agreed but unfortunately the cost of space can be a little steep (what Tim said).

    Agreed on both parts thumb
