Cheers for the ep guys! Interesting to hear from Mr Bithel.
Think this would have actually been quite a light episode if you were following The Rules. We undoubtedly need the official listing of them; sounds like prime bonus content material?
And if anyone at this point is surprised that a promise made by Peter Molyneux was not upheld to it’s full extent, they should probably start paying attention tongue

Edit: Ooh also it was Pictures for Sad Children that did the Kickstarter-backed burning of books. Bit of an odd bloke, possibly.

Great episode and fascinating interview. As mentioned before, molyneux not upholding his promises? It isn’t surprising but for me, it’s part of his charm. Reminds me of baron Munchhausen. Spins an elaborate tale and its all really entertaining but its as far from the truth as can be.

I’m starting to feel as a consumer that my relationship is similar to a formally beaten spouse that think’s he’ll change eventually.

It was probably my fault that a large chunk of Fable’s charm had gradually gotten smaller along the way and didn’t contain all of the features Molyneux touted before release, I shouldn’t have made him mad.

This was picked up on while we were off-mic, currently plotting about what to do with this information? hmmm

I’m thinking maybe a dueling banjo style mash up is in order.

Superb show chaps! Mr Bithel was very interesting and I appreciated his insight into how indie developers work. He fit in very well with the show and was a superb co-host.

fyi the reason I haven’t posted on the forums for a bit is that it was not logging me in properly, it seems to be fine now though :-)

    Shhh… don’t jinx it! shock

Really interesting show, I enjoyed hearing about the behind the scenes stuff which commonly doesn’t get mentioned.

As for Peter Molyneux, I don’t think that he’s some evil Dick Darstardly character twirling his moustache on a pile of money, I reckon he’s got some good ideas but doesn’t really know how to say “let’s test this before we say we can do it”. But either way you look at it, that whole Godus think was a bit of a Clusterf***

Also, was genuinely proud that my drinking game got mentioned/referenced… I know I joked about it on twitter but I didn’t actually expect too much of a mention.

I binge listened to the last 3 episodes with my housemates to check the drinking game works… and perhaps it works too well, we played on sunday and the hangover only just ended.

    Hi!

Excellent episode, great guest with fascinating incites. Good work.

    I hope Dan is ok.

Rules please? I’d like to play along.

Good episode – I particularly liked the discussion about PS+ and how it affects indie sales.

Unfortunately, I already subscribe to Audible, otherwise I’d help you out. For those who aren’t subscribed, it’s a great way to get audiobooks cheaper. Last I checked though some triple A titles like the Harry Potter series were not listed.

    The rules are simple
Step 1- Hold your chosen beverage in your prefered hand
    Step 2- Learn these rules
If a host is missing, down your drink immediately and get another
“Hello, Hello and indeed Ahoy-hoy”- Drink the most piratey-est Rum you can find
    Tim says “Basically”- drink
Dan accidentally offends an ethnic group or nationality- drink
    Coleman mentions “Amibos”- drink
If Destiny is mentioned all players must raise their drink… shouting “DESTINY” and keep drinking until another game is mentioned
If Dan or Coleman have to tell Tim to shut up- Drink
    Console/Firmware Update-Update- Drink
If anyone mentions that Tim owns an Ouya, Find the strongest spirit in the house and take a shot
Driveclub is mentioned, in a good way- drink your drink, In a bad way- swap drinks with the person on your left
If Dan becomes posh- Find the finest liquor your wallet can afford and swirl in round a glass whilst wearing a smoking jacket, sitting by an open fire (Drinking is optional, Smoking a pipe is recommended)
If Loading Bar or Table Top Tuesday is mentioned- Travel to Loading Bar and buy a pint (drink driving is not recommended)
If Dan’s cat is mentioned- Dip a Hobnob in your drink and eat it
If coleman mentions wresting in any form… Eat a spoonful of Mustard (I personally hate mustard so please don’t release a wrestling based podcast)

twitter bonus round, if tim mentions that he went to E3, one unfortunate player must finish all drinks currently in play. (Deciding this is up to you, but i use: last person to say “when i was at E3” drinks

Step 3 or 4 (I don’t remember) SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!!!

    enjoy :)

Good episode but for the love of god can you not get Tim to do an advert :P.  It was basically 2 and a half minutes long (which is basically 2 minutes too long) and could basically alienate new listeners.

Yeah sorry about that embarrassed Tim’s a bit like a duracell rabbit when he starts and it’s a bit hard to control him. This ad is actually repeated in the next show but we’ll make sure to streamline it after that.
