BRB UK 118: Actual Coleman

It’s all change at BRB UK towers as we welcome a new host – BRB stalker extraordinaire Coleman – as Jon has had to shuffle his sporran to pastures new. So join Dan, Tim and Chris as they wade into the week’s news.

This week, we prattle on about:

  • We survived Extra Life – and raised loadsamoney too (check Dan and Kev’s exploits out right here)
  • Tim’s got an Oculus Rift DK2 (we don’t quite know why either)
  • Tim went to MCM London and tinkered with Assassin’s Creed Unity and Evolve
  • Armored Warfare preview
  • Shiny new PS4 firmware goodness
  • Details drop on The Dark BelowDestiny‘s first expansion
  • HNNG. November is upon us!
  • DriveClub
  • Forza Horizon 2

We’d love to hear from you, so feel free to drop us a line (or even a short MP3) at brbuk@bigredbarrel.com.

We appreciate you chaps and chapettes taking time out of your week to listen to our show. For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Zune and stay up to date.

  1. Good show guys.

I enjoyed listening to Real Dan, Actual Coleman and Possibly Tim.

Evolve was really good at EGX when I played it, but the alpha has made me question my purchasing intent. When given to the public, the teamwork aspect seems to fall apart. Similar to Destiny Raids, I can see getting friends together to play some games will be difficult here.

Also, DriveClub frustrates me mostly because the parts of the game that do work, work well IMO. I like the handling and the progression system in the game but the online needs to be fixed. The club I created is lacking members because everybody on my friends list was waiting to try out the PS+ edition first. Honestly, at this stage, I fear for Evolution Studios future.

Excellent show guys. Also its good you now have an actual Coleman as an actual presenter actually turning up on an actual Thursday to actually record the actual show. I’m going to stop saying actual now.

Actually, it’s about… oh never mind.

Thanks for your kind words Mr Hat, praise is always appreciated. I shall do my best to ensure that Thursdays (or any other day of the week mind) are never forgotten.toothysmile

That said, it is an honour to actually be a part of the very show that actually got me into Podcasting in the first place. Also speaking as a long standing fan of the show, I do hope that I get more opportunities to record with Jon again.

  4. Great show guys,

Sad to see Jon “ps4 fanboy” Brady bowing out :( especially being Scottish myself, hopeful he can remember the odd Thursday once in a while!  But what a replacement Actual Coleman is a great edition, enjoyed your past appearances a lot so its good times to have more thumb although the insinuation that my name isn’t of the classy variety is shocking and most certainly spot on haha

The street fighter series is awesome Tim, really well done and definitely worth the admission fee.

On a side note with the awesome news that GTA 5 will have FP mode on current gen and PC … i wonder if Oculus could be a game changer in the GTA series …. hmmmmmmmmmm

Also Dan … as a postman i would love to know who won the Transit race? toothysmiletoothysmile

Ps, well done with Extra Life, iv had a mad time of it recently and couldn’t do it but ill be defo up for it next year :)

Glad to have you here on a regular basis Coleman! If you could persuade Dan to stop getting quite so far up inside my earholes that would be greatly appreciated. All the best to Jon in his endeavours as well thumb So cheers all around for the episode! And a massive congrats to the team for the extra life efforts, nice one.

Destiny expansion already; hmph. On the one hand, yeah it seems more than a little cynical to be dropping it so soon after release, but on the other, given that interest is already waning maybe little injections of excitement over time like this might keep it alive? Give it a chance to become the experience it so dearly wants to be? There’s still hope. Also, it does feel weird going back to calling them expansions, very old school.

Anybody try the Crew beta last night? I think Dan did as my PSN feed thingy was telling me all about his car ownership.

I cannot say ill be purchasing but it was never really for me anyway,  I am more of a Forza, GT, Project Cars kind of fella.

p.s. Mentioned elsewhere but noticed Game have Alien Isolation on offer at £25 for the next few days I believe. Not played it yet myself but at that price it seems a good time to pick it up.

Thank you Mr Vaginee, you’re a very kind but crude person toothysmile

Kind words Aurochs but I fear that nobody can stop Dan from entering his cavity of choice shock

Dan has indeed gotten his hands on time (more on that coming soon), I tried it out this morning for about 30 minutes before work and am liking it so far (apart from the floaty starting vehicle).

Oculus Rift sounds great. Wonder if I can get it to work on my toaster laptop.

Brilliant show i throughly enjoyed the spiffingly delightfulness of it. It was bitter sweet though, I am glad to have Coleman as a regular but sad that Mr Brady will only be an occasional guest. I wish the silly Scotsman well in his future endeavours.

I enjoyed the crew beta alot, it had it’s bugs and glitches (At one point I had a head on crash with a truck so bad that it physically crashed my xbox) but it was fun, I will be buying when I can afford it.

As for the scot, we’ll miss you buddy…

And Mr. Coleman, you haven’t wronged me…. yet hmmm(Just kidding, welcome, new buddy….Although the fear of 2 dans paniced me for a second)

Good episode. Congrats to Coleman for being promoted to third chair.

After hearing about Destiny time and time and time and time again on the game podcasts I listen to I decided to join the crowd and picked up a PS4. So if anyone wants to play Destiny or Diablo III on that platform I’d be happy to. Caveat: I am not good at shooters so a bit of patience would be needed for Destiny. I’ve already done a Witch Doctor playthrough on PC.
