BRB UK 35: Tactical Banana

Well, hello there! We’re all recovering from our Extra Life marathons – so we’ve probably talked more codswallop than usual this week. Regardless, why don’t you join Dan, Jon and Tim for their take on the week’s gaming news!

This week, we prattle endlessly about:

  • Extra Life 2012
  • Borderlands is coming to iOS
  • Wii U Roundup:
    • Nintendo’s selling the Wii U below cost – but will they make their money back on games?
    • Mass Effect 3
    • FIFA 13
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted
  • Fuse
  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Demo (PS3/Vita)
  • Punch Quest (iOS)
  • Sports Champions 2 (PS3 Move)
  • The Great British Debate: Is 7 months long enough to wait before a major hardware refresh?

We appreciate you chaps and chapettes taking time out of your week to listen to our show. For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or Zune and stay up to date. There’s also bonus content for our wonderful BRB App owners!

  1. why do we not have a Tims rants section on the pod? would be a fan favourite i think just 5 mins of just Tim doesnt even have to be about games, could be about re-using a tea bag to why Jon has never worn trousers!

on the ipad mini debate i can see why they would bring it out, the kindle’s main attraction is the size it can fit in a handbag very easily (so im told)sunglasses where as the ipad needs a backpack or briefcase type thingy ma boab so it makes perfect sense to bring out a smaller version for iBooks plus with the apps (inc kindle app) and the use of the internet it is a perfect tool for someone looking for a mainly ebook reading piece of tech with with some extras

anywho great pod again guys happy

Great show, Chaps. However, as an overly loyal apple fanboy I must defend the iPad 4. Sadly, a one year cycle is not enough in these days where 9 months after product launch consumers are starting to complain that apple has fallen behind the times. With a new android device being released monthly apple must respond in kind. Not to manipulate iPad 3 owners to upgrade too soon, but to stay competitive for people looking to purchase thier first tablet this holiday season. With technology advancing so rapidly (omg 5 milimeter iMac!) consumers must change the mindset that new releases somehow take away from previous gen hardware.

Thanks again for my weekly dose of uppercrust/ lower crust Britishness. (Although I prefer my cucumber sandwiches without the crust)

The Ipod mini , yeh they have been out for ages . They are called the  ipod touch lol . I never really got the whole apple fanboy thing . Well apart from my Ipod touch , macbook , ipad ; just don’t get it over a laptop . Sure someone can explain it’s sudo cultish hold it has over people ? winky2 .

Great cast as ever guys barrel

  4. the reason im abit of a fan boy is that yeah its a tad expensive but the build quality is worth it! my first gen macbook has outlasted 4 laptops and is still going strong !

    Thixty,

I understand what you say about laptops as I had 3 HP’s (laptops not the  sauce ) and they all piled in after a year . I bought a top spec Vaio and it’s still belting along 3 years later . I can see the quality it just seems that an Ipad is just a big Ipod touch .

Saying all that a number of my friends got Ibooks and are converted saying they would never go back to windows os .

Well my old laptop that I got was designed by HP for the brand new Windows OS… Windows 95!! :o So I’d say my laptop out survived everyone. :P I’ve got a new HP and I love it to be honest.

I can use a Mac… I just prefer a PC, feels more practical to me in it’s design.

Wading out of this debate, cracking show lads. Brought a smile to my face as I rode the bus this week.

I also spotted this item on sale on Steam Halloween Sale for the um… Train lovers… Amongst us. ;P

    Trains vs Zombies 2.

    I don’t know what to say…
