Geek Speak 98: Ace Tucker Space Trucker

Hello and welcome to a new episode of Geek Speak!

This week Alex and Jo have a very special guest, James Tramontana – writer, producer, musician and podcaster. Yeah, that’s a lot of titles and they just about half cover everything he is doing on his show Ace Tucker Space Trucker, a serial science fiction comedy adventure.

Together they chat about:

  • Ace Tucker Space Trucker and you can listen to the show here
  • Last Day of June and you can read Alex’ preview here
  • Jo is loving Dunkirk (no spoilers)
  • Just Write’s video What Writers Should Learn From Christopher Nolan
  • Preacher (very minor spoilers, skip from 46:00 to 50:25 if wish to avoid)
  • Legion

Legion’s quite good, but it’s one of those shows that you need to watch at least twice to fully appreciate it.

I don’t mind watching shows/movies twice, especially if they are layered enough to add to the watching experience every time. I always thought that American Gods should be watched at least twice to get the most out of that show. What I will say about Legion, is that I have to be in a very specific mind set to watch this show. This is not an easy or a relaxing view. So, although I have all of the episodes available to me, I doubt this is going to be a binge watch.

Agreed. It’s a show that you need some time to ponder over, even if it’s just “ok, wtf just happened here?”. Will there be a special spoilercast episode devoted to Legion when you’re done?

For Game of Thrones – same question – will there be a spoilercast?

I will definitely push for GoT spoilercast when the show is over. Don’t want to promise it 100% as, it will depend on the girls’ availability/etc as well. However, I would say that this is very likely.

With Legion, I don’t know. It did come out awhile ago. If there are enough people who would like us to chat about it, then I am sure we could arrange something.

Review: Mystic Vale

Mystic Vale provides an innovative twist on the deck-building genre with a card-sleeving method, but a lack of player interaction hampers it.
