Our Red Hot Articles from July

We have had some great articles hit the site in the last month and a plethora of new writers making their BRB debuts in the last month or so too. I thought it fitting to highlight the very best of the new and notable from the past month and put them all in easy reach of your eyeballs!

First up if you have not already noticed this article stands shoulder to shoulder with some semi-regularly occurring articles in the “Red Hot…” category. These are articles where multiples of our writers gang together to help give you are overview of the games, movies and more that are currently entertaining us. This helps fill in the gaps of things we have not played exhaustively enough to offer a full review opinion or just serves to give you a quick second (sometimes third) opinion of what other people thought too.

The Big Articles

• If you have not read it already I highly recommend the very personal and great read that was Prescilla’s We Are the Game – How Journey Defines Us All.

22222

Smashsoul did a great job of rounding up games currently available and upcoming on ID@Xbox.

• Long term BRBer and previous SG Alumni, Matthew J, returns to the fold to give us his preview thoughts on comedy one-hit dungeon crawler Barbara-Ian.

• The Barrelcast’s Kev pops up to tell us why we should care about Dishonored (even if the game devs can’t spell!) and also told us about jumping back on the high ground that is SWTOR.

• Good ol’ Diarmuid gave us an advance review of the smallest, biggest movie of the Summer, Ant-man (worth reading again since you have seen it – and if you have not seen it read why you should!) and a review of the movie we screened at Loading in July, The Next Great American Game.

• Jess has just rocked up and given us a timely, joyful review of Pixar’s latest and greatest animation, Inside Out.

• Also nice to see Alex delivering her opinion on the latest Marvel Dice Master‘s set Age of Ultron.

Noobs!

• New boy Calum made his BRB debut this month with his thoughts on Glitchhikers and then followed this up with the well timed guide with tips for surviving a modern day gaming holiday.

• The excellently named Socrates has been a busy boy since starting on BRB at the start of July and he told us his philosophy on what the NX must do to succeed, gave us a preview of Spectra, asked if Dark Souls III is a Souls game too many and ponders over the death of the 3D platformer.

• Reuben debut saw him reviewing the quite frankly awful sounding The Night Crew, sorry about that Reuben but at least you proved you could take one for the team!

• Also glad to welcome long term BRB forum member, Richard Kirke, to the team, making his front page debut educating us on the excellent sounding Astro City.

All in all a BIG month. Looking forward to see what we come up with in August. It should be a Red Hot month!
