Big Red Barrelcast 78: A Baby’s Thumb

The Big Red Barrelcast returns to tickle your ear drums with their ramblings! On this week’s episode, Kev, Pacman and Dave blabber on about Pacman’s new computer, the LOL network and the weather.

This time, they pontificate about:

  • Pacman’s new PC
  • DriveClub
  • GTA heist update
  • The LOL network
  • Top Mods of 2014
  • Shout outs
  • Bonus content for our lovely app owners

We’d love to give you all some sort of incredible hug immediately followed by a polite conversation about how cool you are, but frankly we can’t afford the travel expenses. So, while we save our pennies, cents, and whatever the heck Canadians use, we’ll offer you some download links to help bide the time. Good episode. If you put a BRB Heroes of the Storm team together I would be interested in joining. (Keeping in mind I have never played a MOBA.

  2. Hi EagleUk,

Not certain which podcast crew you were addressing (we have 4-5, depending on definition) – assume it may have been the Barrelcast crew from what you said but then you do have UK in your name so could be BRBUK hmmm

Let me know and I’ll try and make sure you get an answer from the right peeps thumb

    Big red barrel cast!

  4. ^ I thought that was the case. I will make sure they have seen this thumb

  5. We have talked about Steam Boxes on a number of shows. They are pretty much a dead concept at this point. Most, if not all the big PC makers have pulled out entirely, re-branded their micro PC’s or put their programs on indefinite hold. I’m just waiting to see how Steam OS actually plays out. Because that could be great, maybe even as my secondary OS on my rig.

Key sites are NEVER a good idea. Just recently thousands of gamers lost access to games they purchased from key sites after their keys were all invalidated.

We mention old school games from time to time. Most recently Nintendo classics NES, SNES, N64 (roms), Baldur’s Gate EE, old Star Wars Games hitting GOG etc

Project Cars has been mentioned a bunch of times and I’m sure will come up again as we get closer to release.

I would argue that current gen consoles are starting to build nice libraries. The lack of games is not nearly the issue it was last year. I would definitely not call it a severe lack. Both consoles are building libraries at a steady clip. Steam has way, way more than 4000 games but it’s hardly a fair comparison.

War Thunder, Loadout and even PS2 have been talked about on the show as well.

The agendas are primarily only concerned with events and news from the previous week or two at most. When we can I try and pick some more targeted topics, so I’m sure some of your wish list will happen. But really, we have covered a lot of this stuff, we just don’t always have the time to go as in depth as we’d sometimes like. Thanks for supporting the show and I promise to keep your suggestions in mind as I build future agendas.
