Big Red Barrelcast 36: Putting The P In PS4

The Big Red Barrelcast returns to tickle your ear drums with their ramblings! On this week’s episode, Dave, Pacman and Kev ramble on about the Xbone, the Xbone, and Playstation porn. Don’t forget to visit our sponsor Insert Coin Clothing and cover up your nakedness by using discount code BIGREDSAVINGS15 for 15% off your order!

This time, they pontificate about:

  • Unboxing the Xbone
  • Operating the Xbone
  • Battlefield 4
  • Dead Rising 3
  • The PS4’s failure rate
  • PS4 porn
  • Xbone on Jimmy Fallon
  • The Xbone’s disk drive of doom
  • Shout outs
  • Some lovely bonus content for BRB podcast app owners.

We’d love to give you all some sort of incredible hug immediately followed by a polite conversation about how cool you are, but frankly we can’t afford the travel expenses. So, while we save our pennies, cents, and whatever the heck Canadians use, we’ll offer you some download links to help bide the time. 1. Listening to your show makes me want to damn logic and buy a next gen console.  And I was glad to hear Dave speak this episode.  Any chance of a comparison for the PS4 and Xbone controllers?  Keep up the good talking stuff.

  2. My arguments towards either controller are as follows:

    Xbox One Negative Points

    — Sticks are too loose

    — Bumpers are horrible to use without completely changing the way you’ve gotten used to pressing bumpers

    PS4 Negative Points

    — The Options and Share buttons are awkwardly located.

    — The speaker is horrible.

    Xbox One Positive Points

    — D-Pad is clicky and accurate

    — Triggers feel incredible

    PS4 Positive Points

    — Sticks are way tighter and easier to use

    — Triggers are okay, but mainly their positioning is really comfortable

    — The touchpad is super smooth and I want to rub my finger on it all day long
